A Case Study: HealthFirst for Amalgam Recovery
In anticipation of the upcoming federal regulation concerning Amalgam, ADA Member Advantage began looking for an Amalgam Recovery product to endorse. We began our search with only the companies which Amalgam Separators passed the exacting review of ADA’s Professional Product Review (PPR). Each of those companies was invited to participate in an RFP process. Each of the proposals received was reviewed by a cross function staff team including dentists and scientists.
After the initial review, two finalists were selected and subjected to a deeper review, including a detailed review of their internal processes, educational and marketing materials as well as their financial statements. Presentations were made to the subsidiary’s Board of Directors, comprised heavily of volunteer dentists, and HealthFirst and the Rebec Environmental CatchHG® amalgam separator were selected as the lead finalist. Even though HealthFirst and Rebec had been selected by the board, at this point they were only the provisional winner and our exacting and thorough process was far from complete.
Next, an independent environmental consultant company was engaged to visit their site and confirm that their recycling met the highest standards. ADA Member Advantage staff also visited their facilities and met with the account team who would be handling the member program.
It was only after this very detailed and exacting selection and oversight process that it was finally decided that HealthFirst and Rebec were indeed the company offering both the best product and was positioned to provide the value and safety worthy of ADA Member Advantage endorsement.
We feel strongly about the recommendation – HealthFirst offers an excellent product at a competitive price that comes with a lifetime guarantee. The whole process took about a year, but in the end we’ve selected a program that members can count on and that ADA Member Advantage can stand behind.
